We returned to Chinatown and explored a different section of the neighborhood. Our favorite finds included an art gallery, a camera shop, and a bookstore specializing in art and medicine. Such a fun place!

This week's square photo was taken in LA's Chinatown after an afternoon spent exploring the local shops and markets. We hunted for bargains at the market, learned about the health benefits of ginkgo and ginseng in a pharmacy, and admired the ubiquitous Maneki Neko lucky cats, incense sticks, and beautiful gold-stamped joss paper for burnt offerings. And we only managed to experience a fraction of it all! I can't wait to go back.

Happy 2012!
